How to Join (2020-2021 Season)
Thank you for your interest in joining Michigan Club Volleyball! In order to be a part of the club, interested girls must try out and be offered a spot on either the Maize or Blue team. We hold tryouts once a year in the fall (see below for the updated Fall 2020 dates) and players that are offered a spot on the team have that spot for the entire season (September-April). All undergraduate and graduate UM students are encouraged to try out. The five elected officers are guaranteed a spot on either the Maize or Blue team, but all other returning players must re-tryout, so each fall there are about 18 open spots. Former varsity players and junior college players are also eligible to play club.

Fall 2020 Tryouts
We're back!! After a lot of meetings and a few changes to the rules and regulations surrounding the COVID pandemic, we have plans to be back in the gyms soon!
Our plan is to hold tryouts for the entire season in a few weeks!
For you to be able to tryout you must:
1. Fill out a participation agreement (email Becca at umclubvball@gmail.com to get the link)
2. Fill out a tryout form and email it to Kaela (links posted above this section), additionally please fill out this google form: https://forms.gle/txWpBnZ9vyZjte5VA
3. Forms must be completed by Oct. 9th to participate
These things must be done ASAP so both forms can be approved prior to entering the gym. If we are missing one or both of these forms you will not be able to tryout.
Open Gym:
10/15 (7-9:30pm)
Come shake the rust off at open gym! If you plan to come, please note that in the google form above since we need to keep track of numbers. There is no cost to open gym but you must have completed the forms above and you must bring your Mcard to check in.
Tryout dates:
10/20
Split by position
7-8pm: outsides, right sides, setters
8:15-9:15pm: middles, ds/liberos, setters
10/22,27 (7-9:30pm)
All positions, by invite only
**there will be cuts after both the first and second days (and maybe the third)
**please wear a mask at all times in the gym
**there is a $10 tryout fee, please bring CASH
**bring your Mcard
**you must have completed the steps above to participate in tryouts!

Fall 2019 Tryouts & Open Gyms - At Cliff Keen Arena (616 E Hoover)
Open Gyms:

- There is a $20 tryout fee
- We prefer that you pay this in CASH!
- If you cannot pay cash, we can accept payment through an online credit card portal https://ssc.umich.edu/payments/pay-by-credit-card/
- instructions are attached here! Type in the correct code for Women's Club Volleyball and designate $20. Then send a screenshot or forward the receipt to seeger@umich.edu to confirm your payement - how_to_pay_dues_with_cc_.pdf
- Arrive early to sign in and bring your MCard. You cannot tryout without it!
- First and second round: 9/17, and 9/18, 7-9:30pm
- 9/17 will be split by position. If you play 2 positions, we encourage you to try out for both.
- 7-8:30pm Outside and right-side hitters
- 8:30-9:30pm Middle hitters and defensive specialists
- 7-9:30pm Setters
- 9/18 players will all play together
- There will be two rounds of cuts
- 9/17 will be split by position. If you play 2 positions, we encourage you to try out for both.
- Final round: 9/19, 7-9:30 PM
- 9/19 will be used to make final decisions regarding teams and positions.
